Long Term Substitute Teacher

First Grade, Fall 2013

St. Thomas School

Ann Arbor MI


St. Thomas School, in the heart of historic Kerrytown, in Ann Arbor MI, is seeking a long term substitute teacher for our first grade classroom for the fall of the 2013/14 school year.  This role will be responsible for development and implementation of lesson plans for all core subject areas for this class of approximately 20 students.  Qualified candidates should possess experience with running records and the guided reading program, possess excellent classroom management skills and be able to provide examples of parent/teacher newsletters/correspondence.  Experience with conducting morning meeting and creating a strong classroom community will be essential as well as the importance of establishing strong professional relationships with the families served.


Requirements for the position are:  a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a current MI teaching certificate, a ZA endorsement is preferred.  Applicants must be a practicing Catholic and have completed the Protecting God’s Children courses for the Diocese of Lansing prior to beginning the position.
